Hostrocks in the DM139 area consists of a belt of northerly trending, reddish to maroon andesitic volcaniclastic and volcanic rocks of the Jurassic Betty Creek Formation (Hazelton Group); included in this sequence are crystal lithic tuffs, tuff breccia, coarse lapilli tuffs and thin beds of ash and fine lapilli tuff.

An undulating 10-centimetre-wide quartz vein with a centre of sulphides (up to 20 per cent) consisting of arsenopyrite and lesser pyrite was reported to occur near the edge of the Ataman Glacier. It appeared to be a discontinuous structure. Sample DM139, which sample the vein, assayed 3.62 grams per tonne gold, 15.1 grams per tonne silver, and 0.036 per cent copper (Assessment Report 37453).
